More people than ever are looking at starting a lifestyle business. A lifestyle business doesn’t mean what it used to of course. Before 2020, it meant you could take your laptop lifestyle business around the world! Since the global pandemic of 2020 things have changed a little.
But starting a lifestyle business is still as attractive now as it was pre-pandemic. In fact it’s now more important than ever to become financially independent and build some stability outside of employment or traditional business; both of which are becoming less reliable in the current climate.
Starting A Lifestyle Business
Starting a lifestyle business isn’t as difficult as it once was. Anyone can now start out online with no experience of business or marketing. A digital lifestyle business can allow anyone to build a solid income from anywhere; whether working from home or a hotel room.
A lifestyle business is a business which refers customers to other people’s products and services online. Drop shipping and affiliate marketing are two business models which fit into the “lifestyle business” term. With each, you are sending customers to other people’s products and services. This can be done from a laptop from anywhere in the world. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection.
Lifestyle business owners are good at one thing: marketing. They use marketing to put themselves in-between customers and products. This is a valuable skill which can be learned by anyone, given the time and knowledge.
I Started A Lifestyle Business in 2014
I joined a lifestyle business company known as The SFM Mentors back in 2014. Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek founded the Six Figure Mentors in 2010, and since then they have been helping members from around the world build lifestyle businesses.
Once a member, (start here), you can build a digital sales funnel through following a step by step modular process inside the back office. This process takes a few days but once set up, you’ll have your own range of digital products to earn from and which can be sold around the world to anyone!
The SFM’s Powerful Business System
The SFM Digital Business system is a powerful way to earn online through selling digital products which pay large commissions.
As a previous affiliate before finding the SFM, I struggled both with marketing and earning commissions large enough to live on. I didn’t understand the best systems and strategies for selling online.
Most affiliate programs offer low priced products and even lower levels of commissions. Amazon for example offers only between 3% and 11% commissions on sales you refer as an affiliate. That’s a tiny commission even on a $100 product. Since most products on Amazon are under this price, Amazon offers a difficult way to earn a realistic income using it’s affiliate program.

- Organic marketing – blogging and v’logging are examples of this (video blogging)
- Social media marketing strategies include platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube etc.
